2007 Super Shoot-Out Information
ATTENTION SUPER CLASS RACERS:
The Pacific Division and KD Kanopy are excited to announce the continuation of the Super Shoot-Out program for racers in Super Street, Super Gas, Super Comp and Super E. The KD Kanopy Super Shoot-Out features the top 4 qualifiers of each Super class in a “shoot-out” for money and trophies on Saturday morning of every Division 7 LODRS in 2007 (except the Division 7 Final in Bakersfield)!
Points will be awarded and tracked all season for racers who choose to participate in the Super Shoot-Out. At the Division 7 Final in Bakersfield, the top 8 points earners in each class will compete in the “Ultimate Super Shoot-Out” on Thursday evening to determine season champions. Each season champion will receive an NHRA “Wally” plus prize money, including a $1,500 bonus from KD Kanopy. 50% of all entries received throughout the season will be paid as prize money to the season champions, so the total purse, including the KD Kanopy bonus, could be VERY large!
Following are the rules for each event:
- At each event participants will be able to enter the program for a $20 entry fee (payable at the NHRA trailer, the KD Kanopy trailer or to an NHRA official in the tower).
- The two Friday time trial sessions will count towards qualifying for the shoot-out.
- The four drivers in Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street who run closest to the .900 index, and paid the entry fee, will square off on Saturday’s time run for money and prizes.
- In the event of a tie, reaction time will be the first tie-breaker, order of occurrence will be the second tie-breaker.
- 50% ($10) of every entry will be paid to the Super Shoot-Out qualifiers for the event. The remaining 50% ($10) will be used for prize money at the season finale “Ultimate Super Shoot-Out” in Bakersfield.
- Qualifying points are earned at every Division 7 LODRS in which a driver registers for the Super Shoot-Out.
- Winners will receive a $100 bonus from KD Kanopy in addition to 50% of the purse.
- Runner up will receive 25% of total purse
- Semi finalists will receive 12.5% of total purse.
Format and points for the year-end KD Kanopy Ultimate Super Shoot-Out will be:
- Points will be issued as follows:
#1 Qualifier will receive 10 points #6 Qualifier – 5 points
#2 Qualifier – 9 points #7 Qualifier – 4 points
#3 Qualifier – 8 points #8 Qualifier – 3 points
#4 Qualifier – 7 points #9-16 Qualifiers – 2 points
#5 Qualifier – 6 points All other entrants – 1 point
- Tie breaker for year end points are:
- Driver entering most events in the KD Kanopy Super Shoot-Out
- Average qualifying times
- Average qualifying position
- One race run-off between tied contestants
New KD Kanopy Super Shoot-Out decals will be available at the KD Kanopy trailer located in the pits. New decal must be displayed to earn points and/or qualify. The KD Kanopy Super Session decals will not be accepted.
Payouts, trophies and photos will be distributed and taken at the KD Kanopy trailer. Winners should report WITH THEIR RACE VEHICLE to the trailer when announced. |
