KD Kanopy Announces SCEDA Sponsorship and Race of Champions

KD Kanopy has agreed to sponsor SCEDA for the 2008 racing season, and will be named the “Official Canopy of SCEDA”.  As part of the sponsorship, KD Kanopy will present a “Race of Champions” on the final SCEDA weekend (October 11-12), featuring a 5-round, guaranteed $1,000-to-win purse for Electronics/Non-electronics combo and a 4-round, guaranteed $500 savings bond-to-win purse for Junior Dragster racers.

The KD Kanopy Race of Champions will feature all winners of the Electronic and Non-electronic brackets at SCEDA events in 2008 (excluding the final weekend) and all winners in the Junior Dragster category for the Junior Race of Champions.  A win at a SCEDA event guarantees entry to the Race of Champions.  The remaining spots needed to field a 32-car, 5-round race and a 16-car, 4-round Junior race, will be filled by “blockers”.  Any racer is eligible to be a KD Kanopy “blocker” through the purchase of a 10’x10’, 10’x15’ or 10’x20’ KD Kanopy.  A purchase of a KD Kanopy will also guarantee entry to the Race of Champions, although blockers will be limited to the number of cars needed to fill the field.  Blockers will be guaranteed entry on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If a racer buys a canopy, then wins a SCEDA event at a later date, they cannot be double-entered… their SCEDA win will improve their spot on the ladder, but no racer will be allowed a double-entry.  In summary, to guarantee a spot in the KD Kanopy Race of Champions or the KD Kanopy Junior Race of Champions, racers must either win a SCEDA event, or purchase a KD Kanopy and become a blocker.

KD Kanopy Racer Rep program

KD Kanopy is searching for NHRA and IHRA racers to represent, promote and sell their products in each NHRA and IHRA division. Race teams who are interested in being considered for this racer-rep program should fill out the Information Request Form to receive additional information. Typically, only one race team will be selected per division to represent KD Kanopy.
